“I just wrote to say I love you” Querida Tia Pat, I wish I could have told you this face to face but plans don´t always come as we want to. As John Lennon said : “Life is what happens to us while we are planning to do other things”. Big true. I want to say just thank you, but a big THANK YOU !! A big Thank You, for your kindness, generosity and your endless loving care you gave us all. As I told Tio Pepe & Primos these days, you were a very intelligent and smart woman, but above of all, you had a great heart which inspired all your Family and of course your Spanish Family who are very proud to have had you as our Dear Aunt Pat. I personally Thank You Tia, and of course Tio Pepe and Primos, for let me have lived with you all those summers and time we spent together. Thank you for organizing thousands of activities that made me feel really important and happy : going to School with Tony and friends, going to Blackpool Fairground, visiting York, visiting Museums, Albert Dock, … But the most important, being one more member of the family in the daily time. Thank you for having me taken as part of your Spanish Classes at School. I remember I was standing in front of all the classmates, with a starring role, explaining everybody (in Spanish of course) about Spain, Santander, Palacio de la Magdalena, Sardinero Beaches, etc.. and answering any question they asked me. I´ll never forget you looking at me laughing and enjoying with my explanations… It made me feel like I was like a famous boy that everybody was staring at him and wanted to talk to. It was a big and exciting experience for a 12 years-old boy. I remember perfectly now (I can really see you) how you received in Beechwood Drive the first time I went to England by flying alone for the first time as well : “Hola Valiente, has llegado sano y salvo !!!” (Hi brave boy, you have arrived safe and sound !!), you told me. Once, years later, you picked me up at Manchester Airport and driving back to Formby it played on the radio the song “I just called to say I love you” (Steve Worder). Ever since, when I listened to that song It reminded me of that moment. And from now on, every time I ever listen to that song again I will remember you. Forever. We miss you. You will always be in our hearts and we will remember you with a smile of gratefulness Thank You Tia Pat, Tu sobrino que te quiere mucho, José Angel “I just wrote to say I love you”
